Hi! My name is Liz, and I am the owner of Riverside Gardens. Riverside Gardens is located in East Nashville, TN, where I grow all the flowers in my bouquets out of our 1000 sq ft. backyard. I am a chemistry teacher by day in nearby Wilson County.

I have always loved plants and flowers, and I spent most of my childhood outside on our 100 acre farm in Maryland, helping dad with the vegetable garden, feeding our farm animals, and playing with my sister. While at the time it was just considered a long list of chores, I never realized how much I appreciated the freedom and growth that came with it.

Riverside Gardens was officially established in 2023, and I have been growing flowers in our backyard since 2021. What started out as a hobby, quickly turned into a passion project and second job. Our kitchen regularly becomes my dahlia tuber dividing area (much to my husband’s chagrin) and our bonus room houses 600 seedlings at any given time.

Starting this venture has felt like a breath a fresh air: recapturing that feeling of exuberance and freedom growing up and to continue to grow into my most authentic self. Some of my greatest joys (and fails) have been in the garden, and while it can be very stressful at times—when Mother Nature has a mind of her own—the happiness that each bouquet brings is undeniable. I hope to spread this joy to local residents in the Nashville area and provide you with a consistent source of fresh flowers-flowers that have been grown in the healthiest ways that benefit both us and nature.
